Driven by a deep-rooted passion for creativity and community, Mohamad founded Karma by Design to bridge the gap between fine art and meaningful impact. What started as handcrafted gifts for friends and family quickly evolved into a movement.
As an artist and visionary from Detroit, Dous believes that every blank canvas is an opportunity not just to create something beautiful, but to spark conversations and drive real-world change. His work reflects the grit, culture, and resilience of the city that shaped him.
Six years of art with purpose
Art wasn't learned — it was innate. Growing up in Detroit, creativity was a constant companion. Sketching, drawing, making things by hand. Not for money, not for recognition. Just because it felt right.
What started as handcrafted gifts for friends and family — given without expectation — quickly became something more. When people insisted on paying, the answer was simple: 'Donate to a charity instead.'
Purchasing a home in 2016 was the turning point. A dedicated space to create seriously. What had been a side passion became a real studio — and the realization that time and creativity held genuine value began to take shape.
Karma by Design evolved into a brand that not only compensates its craft but continues its mission of giving back. Collections launched. Clients grew. Interior designers, businesses, and collectors started taking notice.
